Clay pot tower with Christmas Roses, heather and foliage plants for the balcony and terrace.
CHRISTMAS ROSE DECORATION IN A PYRAMID OF POTS

An arrangement of plants relies on suspenseful design to be appealing. The sophisticated use of foreground and background, and perfect colour combinations are just some of the numerous aspects of such design. By using several levels of height, the pyramid of pots taps yet another option to catch the eye and is ideal for small balconies or a place on the doorstep. The pot-in-pot method enables even smaller plants in the background to surpass themselves to back up the Christmas Rose.

  • Step 1 Fill the pots with potting soil.

Fill the pots with potting soil.

Step 2 Place the smaller clay pot in the large clay pot and also fill it with soil.

Place the smaller pot onto the larger one, making sure to put it close to the edge rather than in the centre to leave sufficient room in the foreground for the Christmas Rose and candle holder.

Step 3 Remove the Christmas Rose from the pot and plant it in the lower clay pot.

It is important not to place the smaller pot in the middle of the larger one, but to place it right at the edge so that there is enough space in the foreground for planting the Christmas rose and for the lantern.

Step 4 Fill gaps with moss.

Plant heather and alum root into the smaller pot. Place the candle holder firmly in the larger pot. Cover any visible potting soil with moss.

Step 5 Decorate with wool and stars.
