DIY miniature world
Follow our lead for this special DIY project in which we created a whole miniature winter world in a zinc tub. All you need is a colourful Snow Rose with some green companions, two stylised little ceramic houses for tea-lights and a portion of fantasy. You can arrange the zinc tub in any way to make the loveliest little scenes that give you a sense of the upcoming joy of Christmas. This winter Snow Rose decoration will make for a pleasant winter mood on your terrace, balcony or doorstep.
Place a layer of gravel at the bottom of the zinc tub to prevent waterlogging and fill up with soil mix.
Remove the Christmas Rose and its companion plants from their pots and plant them in the tub.
Starting in the centre and working towards the edges, cover part of the surface with moss to create a small clearing. This is the right spot for the little ceramic houses. We chose stylised town houses that can be illuminated from behind with LED lamps or tea-lights. However, you can use any type of decorative house you like.
A dusting of artificial snow adds that winter mood.
Small fairy lights illuminate the little tree of life in the background, making it look like a huge Christmas tree in our miniature world.
There you have it, a winter scene that will sit comfortably on any side table, in the extension or on the terrace.
