The name Leona comes from the Latin leo for “lion”. It goes perfectly with thisH. x lemperii variety because the large, dark red and upright flowers stand gracefully on sturdy stems. Suitable companion plants are evergreen perennials and small conifers, which, like the compactly growing Leona, thrive in light shade.
