Hedge Hellebore

The hedge hellebore comes from Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Rumania and Croatia.

The dark green leaves of this deciduous species appear early in the New Year. They grow to their final size before flowering and therefore they often hide the flowers. Each leaf can have 10-13 segments, are wide and slightly serrated

The flowers can have up to nine yellow-green to light green flowers which carry fragrance. The flower show begins in February and can last through May. They are the smallest flowers of the Helleborus-species.
